Exhibition showcases the creative flair of residents

-

A CARE home has displayed its artistic side with an exhibition featuring the creative talents of its residents.

Sunrise Senior Care in Bramhall launched the event - entitled ‘Art of Sunrise’ - on National Care Home Open Day.

And the paintings proved such a hit with visitors they will remain on show at the home’s Dairyground Road base until Friday.

The exhibition also featured the best of Stockport Grammar School’s recent art competition, and winner Nancy Davies came along to enjoy the day.

Sunrise’s director of communications, Dawn Williams, said the day had been a great success.

She said: “The exhibition went very, very well. The artwork was absolutely fantastic, you would think they were all professional artists.

“It really was stunning and as well as the gallery we had some leaflets and brochures about artists that everyone knows for people to take away, as well as playing cards featuring our residents work handed out as promotional gifts.”

Artist Christine Williams also gave a talk and held an art taster session for residents.

And later in the afternoon cello and flute duet Seranade performed for visitors and guests while food was served.
