Diabetes group’s happy 21st
THERE were celebrations as a Stockport charity marked its 21st birthday.
Stockport Tadpoles, based at Edgeley Children’s Play Centre, has helped children with diabetes and their families since 1994.
Deborah Spires, group chairperson, and her husband Paul joined just after the group formed when their son Ashley was diagnosed aged two.
She said: “Ashley was able to meet other children who understood what diabetes was about and we could share experiences and advice with other parents. That support network is what we are all about.”
