Business ‘dating service’
A BUSINESSMAN has set up on online broker ‘dating agency’ to put construction professionals and contractors in touch.
Steve Bancroft, owner of SBE Electrical on Hillgate in Stockport town centre, has set up MandE Connect.
The free service cuts out the ‘middle man’ such as a recruitment agency and, therefore, the cost of any commission.
Contractors can create their own profile and jobs with specific criteria in a bid to find a match with workers who will place their own skill set on the website
Steve, 26, explained how it works in a similar manner to an online dating agency. He said: “The job doesn’t get posted anywhere, no one else sees it other than the contractor who created it and the sub-contractor they offer it to.
“The sub-contractor then decides whether to accept or decline the offer within a time frame set by the contractor.
“Once the subcontractor accepts, the two parties are connected and can then contact each other to make arrangements and discuss the job.”
