THE Fiveways pub in Hazel Grove has been chosen by Pure 107.8FM listeners as the best pub in Stockport. Presenter Paul Holloway explains more:
Congratulations to Stephen and Vicky Henry and their team at The Fiveways in Hazel Grove who won Stockport’s Perfect Pub 2015 with 47% of the vote.
The couple have managed the pub since Joseph Holt’s spent £1.8 million on a refurb some 18 months ago. The pub also recently won an award for the best food pub in the Holt’s estate.
At first I was surprised The Fiveways pub won by so many votes because typically the pubs that perform better in this competition are smaller locals rather than bigger pubs serving food. But it became apparent very quickly talking to Stephen and Vicky that they are very proactive in the community putting on special events. They have a big team but it’s obvious their staff work hard to ensure the pub has the same personal feel that you find in a cosy local.
Well done to all our finalists including runners-up Church Inn, Cheadle Hulme and third placed The Victoria, in Offerton.
