Marathon challenge Stateside

-

A PAIR of keen runners have set their sights on running the New York Marathon to raise money for St Ann’s Hospice.

Bob and Nat Hobson have decided they want to take on the 26.2 mile Stateside event in support of the Heald Green charity.

The Bramhall couple have already raised around £ 2,000 for the charity after running in this year’s London Marathon, but are hoping to double that figure with a jog around The Big Apple.

Bob’s feet have hardly had time to touch the ground after he became captain of Bramall Park Golf Club in March.

He has a big charity day coming up next month when the club holds its popular AM tournament on Wednesday, July 15.

The event has already raised £ 127,000 for the hospice, which has been chosen as the club’s charity of the year.

Bob said: “I did promise myself that London would be my last marathon, but Nat is keen for us to run New York which should be an amazing experience.

“It will hopefully enable us to raise more funds for a very worthy cause.”
