Traynor impresses with a hat-trick

JOHN Traynor scored a hat-trick when he won all his three games in the Stockport Individual Premier League.

He opened his account with a top performanc­e against Alan Wilkinson, where direct darting of 15, 14, 21, 20 and 17 secured a 5-2 victory. He followed with a 5-2 win over Derek Higgins before completing his night’s darting with finishing shots of 16, 19, 20, 20 and 19 to register a 5-0 victory against Mark Daniels.

Dave Adshead fired home superb darts of 19, 17, 13, 16 and 16 to beat Mick Cosgrove 5-1. He then moved on to win in five straight legs of 19, 20, 20, 19 and 21 over Stephan Graham.

In-form Steve Gallimore (17, 19, 18, 18 and 20) took out Steve Atkinson 5-1 in his first game, then enjoyed a straight leg 5-0 result over Jackie Wilkinson, before reaching his doubles in 18, 18, 18, 15 and 18 to claim a 5-1 win against Higgins.

Paul Holland reached the winning post in 20, 16, 16, 25 and 22 to edge home 5-3 over Tom Booth. He then shared the points with Ray Gamble in his second game.

Booth improved in his final game, checking out with quality darts of 21, 21, 21, 24 and 14 to beat Steve Rogers (21, 19, 17) in a top class game.

Stinger Wray won all his three games. His first encounter gave him a 5-1 win against Daniels in 16, 18, 21, 20 and 20, followed by 5-1 victories over John Hyman and Lee Taylor.

In the Stockport Super League, Danny Kay (17, 16) Paul Taylor (17, 21) and Daz Fitton (21, 17) were all on target for Armoury B, 5-2 winners at Queens B, who replied from Ian Walters (18, 17) and Pete Sym-Mutch (21, 26).

Fingerpost won 4-3 against Brinningto­n Labour Club, Nathan Aspinall (17, 17) Tom Williams (21, 21) and Shaun Barlow (22, 23) were their star players.

Grange Club enjoyed a 6-1 win at Victoria in the Premier division, Aaron Lee (22, 20) Paul Klemp (20, 26) Dion Salt (23, 27) and Andy Nichol (22, 32) were their main winners.

Grapes Hazel Grove were comfortabl­e 5-2 winners at New Bridge Lane Conservati­ve Club, Vic Clegg (23, 17) and Ryan Slate (19, 28) were the visitors marksmen.
