FOAL RESCUED
FIREFIGHTERS rescued a foal trapped up to its neck in thick mud near a Stockport canal.
Crews were called to Gravel Bank Road in Woodley on Tuesday, July 28.
Firefighters used lifting slings to pull the foal free after an hour and it was unhurt. It’s believed to have come from a nearby farm.
Watch commander Tim Burgon said: “It was a really tricky situation.”
