Mum’s beauty bid gets a boost
A YOUNG mum who has made it through to the finals of a national beauty competition has received a helping hand.
In May we reported on Claire Woolstencroft from Romiley, who last year competed in the finals of Miss Stockport, and had been hoping to do so again this year.
However, in the meantime she gave birth to son Oliver and was told that contestants with children are not allowed to enter.
After researching other options she entered the ‘Beauty of the UK’ competition, and was named Beauty of Stockport’ – meaning she will compete in the national finals in October.

Claire said: “I am really excited for the finals – I can’t wait.”
She also said she plans to return to college in September to train as a fitness instructor, and after reading her story Laura Mylotte from Life Leisure decided to help out.
Life Leisure has provided Claire with access to their facilities while she trains.
Laura said: “We are delighted to be able to offer some support for Claire, she is a great role model to encourage girls to embrace sport and fitness and pursue what they enjoy.”
