Pupils jumping for joy as school wins play area cash

-

A SCHOOL is celebrating after receiving a £5k windfall towards an outdoor play area.

Lane End Primary School in Cheadle Hulme was awarded the money by mutual company OneFamily Foundation after its application for funding received a winning number of online votes.

The school has been raising funds towards a ‘trim trail’ - a play area made up of simple pieces of exercise equipment that develop balance, strength and coordination - for the past four years.

And the cash injection means pupils will soon be able to enjoy using the play area all year round.

Beverley Sangster, chair of Lane End’s parent teacher association, said:

“The trail comprises a range of play equipment including climbing frames and clambering play activities which all the pupils can enjoy.

“Over the past four years we’ve raised the money for all of this equipment, but the OneFamily award means we can now fund the artificial grass safety flooring beneath, meaning the project can finally be completed.” Anna Drabble, Head of Community at OneFamily, added: “We’re delighted that so many children will benefit from this marvelous trim trail at Lane End Primary school.”
