Nick runs up an impressive total for a worthy cause
RUNNER Nick Rose has boosted the coffers of Cancer Research UK by £1,070 so far after taking on the challenge of the Hoka One One Stockport 10 miles race.
Nick, who works as a sales manager for Bredbury-based Midshire joined 1,500 other runners for the run which involved a challenging course starting and finishing at Woodbank Park.
Nick managed an impressive time of 1hr 15mins and 23secs.
He said: “I’ve run further and faster than I did on December 4th, but I have never run with more fire in my heart. As soon as I heard the devastating news, I started thinking about ways I could raise money for the charity.”
Nick is no stranger to running, having completed the London Marathon, Manchester Marathon and Stockport Big Run for charity in the past few years. Over the next 12 months, Midshire will be organising many more fundraising activities to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook to keep up-to-date with its events.

The charity has particular importance to everyone at Midshire, as just a few weeks ago Midshire’s Warehouse Manager, Steve Bett’s wife sadly lost her battle with cancer, leaving behind three young children.
Steve joined Midshire in 2014, and he was unanimously voted Employee of the Year 2015 by the senior management team and his colleagues.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
Entirely funded by the public, it relies on fundraising activities to fund its projects to sponsor research into the disease in a bid to treat it and hopefully, eradicate it in the future. For more information visit cancerresearchuk.org.
