PURE 107.8FM CHRISTMAS EVE

THERE are some special shows on Stockport’s Radio station Pure 107.8FM over the festive period, presenter Paul Holloway looks ahead.

The build-up to Christmas is a very busy time in a radio station as plans are being made on how we keep covering Stockport during the holiday period. We’ve a few specials planned.

Matthew Gilbert will be looking back on both the music and local events that helped shape the year. Join him for 2016 – A Stockport Year on Tuesday, December 28, Wednesday, December 29 and Thursday, December 30, 8-9pm then repeated in its entirely 12-3pm on New Year’s Eve.

It’s also been a year when we’ve lost some big names in music. Dave Stearn has an Album Club special on Christmas Day when he’ll look back on some of the artists we’ve said goodbye too, including Prince and David Bowie.

Grant Rankin returns to Pure 107.8FM for a festive Northern Soul Floorfillers special on Boxing Day 6-8pm, repeated New Year’s Eve 6-8pm. We’ve also got coverage of Stockport County’s league double header against Harrogate Town on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
