New roles for volunteers helping town’s homeless

VOLUNTEERS are the life blood of The Wellspring. We have around 300 hardworking, dedicated volunteers at Wellspring. Some of these people do a shift once a month, some once a week and some as and when required.

Volunteers are involved in almost every aspects of what we do, from sitting on our board of directors to working in our store room.

We have recently created some new volunteering roles at The Wellspring. We are currently looking for people to apply.

We are looking for volunteers to help with cleaning, sorting donations and befriending people who attend the service.

The Wellspring is blessed with fabulous support from the community of Stockport, we get lots of clothing donated that we use to give to homeless and disadvantaged people.

We have a brilliant event coming up in February. Our annual quiz, The Wellspring Factor hosted by Mr Gordon Burns, takes place at Stockport Grammar School on Friday, February 17 2017. Tickets are £12 and include supper and wine. Teams of six will be formed.

The quiz is attended by around 300 people and run by The Challenge Factor who use lots of technology to run the quiz. A licensed bar and free parking at the Grammar School is available. Tickets for this event usually sell out very fast! If you would like a table of six or any number of tickets, please call Pauline on 427 2763.

We are now recruiting fundraising runners for both The Great Manchester Run 2017 and The Great Manchester Half Marathon, both events take place on Sunday, May 28 2017. Places to run and fundraise for The Wellspring are free with no set fundraising
