Feeling the journey back to where the club
AS Chair of the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative, I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year!
Over the last few years a tradition has grown up that the County Supporters’ Co-op organises a “Christmas Cavort” at a local pub so that all members can let their hair down and enjoy a festive frolic. This Christmas the cavort was held at the Spinning Top (near the Hat Museum) and was enjoyed by one and all. During the proceedings, we had no less a guest than Father Christmas himself. One of the County fans asked Santa if he could give County promotion as a present this year, and Saint Nick promised he would do his best.
Will that Christmas wish come true?
At the time of writing County are just outside the play-off zone. We have won our last five games. County’s board has issued accounts showing a steady improvement in the financial position. The crowds, already by far the best in our league, are growing. We have a manager whose judgement and understanding of the game is second to none.
The situation is also looking good for the Supporters’ Co-operative. Our creaking and complex membership system has been finally sorted-out and member numbers are growing. The Guardian Account, which exists to acquire fan-owned assets for the club, stands at £30,000+ and it is hoped that in this new year an
