Paul Charnock’s Financial Report indicated the Cooperative continued to be in rude health financially, the Guardian Account sitting at £ 30.8k and General Fund at £ 5.3k.
Under Events, satisfaction was recorded at the recent events that had done so well, among them the 5 A Side Tournament, won by the impressive Stockport County Community Foundation team. This was a resounding success. The Xmas Cavort was less so, but both events raised nice amounts for the Guardian Account, whilst the Christmas Carol Concert proved a great community effort and raised our profile significantly.
Upcoming events include New Mills Quiz Night on 21 January and possibly some Table Top Sales in the winter months, but looking further ahead it was noted that a date ( Sunday 3 September 2017) had been provisionally set for the Hatters Half Marathon, and we were already negotiating with Stockport and Manchester Council’s on the necessary permissions.
In Any Other Business a discussion took place regarding an event in honour of the late Chris Thompson. This was likely to be in March, and the Cooperative agreed to get involved providing raffle prizes and publicity etc.
The meeting concluded fairly late on, but …all in all a decent amount of work had been sorted.
