STAFF DESERVE MORE PARKING

-

THE car parking at Stepping Hill is always difficult for patients, and must be doubly so for staff.

As a patient I leave early to hunt for a parking space. Staff cannot be expected to spend 20 minutes or more on top of travelling time looking for somewhere to park.

Its not good enough to suggest that they should make other arrangements. Shift work may involve unsociable hours when public transport is sporadic.

Our frontline NHS staff deserve to be treated much better, especially as they are paying for a parking service which they clearly can’t receive as there are no spare spaces.

Then on top of this to issue them with a fine, if they park in the wrong area. It’s a very shabby way to treat people.

I don’t understand how our NHS workers can be fined for incorrect parking, and yet people can visit from abroad, receive treatment, and no one follow it up with an invoice. Maybe it would be a better use of resources to get the parking firm to invoice those who receive treatment to which they’re not entitled. Fiona Bates Bramhall
