LUCKY neighbours have been left dancing in the street after scooping a People’s Postcode Lottery jackpot.

Four residents on Roscoe Street, Edgeley, had their SK3 9EN postcode come up in the daily draw.

Among the winners was dance enthusiast Dominic Dempsey, 49, who celebrated with a boogie in the road. The mechanical engineer claimed £30,000 and plans to use the money to hone his dance skills in Brazil before teaching the steps he learns in Stockport.

Dominic said: “I have been learning Brazilian zouk for the past five years and it’s changed my life.

“This win means that I can travel to Brazil to learn from one of the top teachers. It’ll be intensive, like the training for Strictly Come Dancing.

“Eventually I’d like to start up a dance group in Stockport for people who want to learn something new.”

Another winner was neighbour Keely Ney, 41, who works as a waitress and has received £60,000.

The mum-of-three wants to splash the cash on a holiday, new car and home improvements.

She said: “I signed up before Christmas but it’s been such a busy time that I had forgotten about it so when I got the cheque I was gobsmacked.

“It’s hard to get my head around it because I never thought I’d have that much money at once.”

Two other people on the street have won £30,000 but were unavailable to receive their cheques when People’s Postcode Lottery representative Judie McCourt called round.

Judie said: “It’s always great meeting our winners and dancing with Dominic on his doorstep will be a moment I won’t forget.

“Playing People’s Postcode Lottery helps so many charities, which is a great reason to play, and of course you could win.”

This form of lottery is played by buying a £10 subscription that gets a ticket in a prize draw every day for a month. If your postcode is drawn, you win.

Among good causes to benefit from money raised is Jump Space, which was awarded more than £15,000 for trampoline equipment.
