NK THEATRE ARTS Hear Kashmere’s material

-

NEXT week, NK Theatre Arts proudly presents the Willy Russell Play ‘Blood Brothers’ which is taking place at The Forum Theatre for two evening performances on Thursday, February 16 and Friday 17, at 7.30pm.

The story is a contemporary nature verses nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins Mickey and Eddie, who were separated at birth and one raised in a wealthy family while the other is raised in a poor family. The twins’ different backgrounds take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum, one becoming a councillor and the other unemployed and in prison.

Russell says that his work was based on a one-act play that he read as a child ‘about two babies switched at birth.’.. it became the seed for Blood Brothers!

Tickets are priced at £11 for adults and £10 for concessions and please note this is not the musical version of the show.

You can buy tickets for this performance via our ticket line which is 0333 666 3366 or by visiting our website www. theforumtheatre.co.uk Darren Stannage our quirky retro-decor, orange curtains circa 1970 and ambient lighting (trailing fairy lights) and we were once likened to ‘Gok Wan’s garage’ which can only be a compliment!

This Thursday we are joined by comedian Mickey Sharma.

An Indian born in Pakistan then adopted by Birmingham, Mickey Sharma was a waiter, a shelf-stacker and a bouncer before finding his true calling on the comedy stage.

A comic with contagious energy, Mickey will have you trying to copy his catchy material (unsuccessfully) for a long time after seeing him.

Hirsute, hectoring and hilarious, Ben Schofield has performed to audiences and critical acclaim at comedy venues across the British Isles.

An accomplished act, he marries a distinctive animated delivery with a cerebral comic voice and a keen eye for the absurd.

Your MC for the evening is Rachel Fairburn who is standing in for Danny Sutcliffe. Doors open 7.15pm; show starts 7.45pm. Get your tickets from Seven Miles Out or book online – only £7 in advance or £8 on the door.

Come and join our great comedy-loving community here in Stockport Old Town!

This Friday night we have the first in a series of young band nights celebrating Stockport’s brightest new talent.

We have a great line-up of brilliant Stockport bands The Printers, Searching for the Enemy, Ceva and Don’t Fret. Doors open 7.30pm and it’s free entry.

We promise you will be impressed by what you see and hear so why not come down and lend your support.

On Saturday night don’t miss your chance to see the Stockport band that are making lots of noise and hotly tipped to follow in the footsteps of Blossoms.

After a storming performance in the Market Square at Foodie Friday last summer (one of the biggest crowds we’ve had), Kashmere are now on tour around the country.

We are very excited that they are playing a free home-town gig at Seven Miles Out with local support which will blow your minds.

Check out their brilliant new single Porcelain which is attracting loads of radio play and is really getting the band noticed.

Come down to this great night that you will be talking about in years to come.

It’s a very exciting time for Stockport so we hope you can join us and be part of it.
