Mainwaring out to protect record
MATTY Mainwaring will look to build on the impressive start to his professional career when he returns to the ring on Friday.
The footballer-turnedboxer takes on Chris Jenkinson on a bill taking place at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester.
It is a packed bill, which also features a number of local prospects such as Sam Hyde, Michael Gomez Jnr, Anthony Leak and Stephen Danyo.
The event will be streamed live through social media giant UNILAD on their Facebook page, and promoter Lindemann is excited to give the boxers an opportunity to be seen by a mass audience.
“In this day and age people haven’t got the time to sit in and schedule a night’s viewing on the couch watching the TV, so through this new digital broadcasting people can watch on the move wherever they are,” he said.
“People have seen the quality that we have put on with our first couple of shows and it’s only going to get bigger and better from here.
“UNILAD can attract some great viewing figures through their social media and it’s great that these young boxers can have their fights shown to such a large audience.
“It helps to give the boxers exposure and it allows more and more people to learn about them.
“We have some great young talent on the bill that can really go on to achieve a lot in the sport.”
Tickets to the event on Friday are priced at £65 and £35 and are available at www.skiddle.com
