Project is one of most productive in the UK

-

THE Wellspring is one of the most productive homeless projects in the UK.

It creates more positive outcomes than the vast majority of other homeless projects in the UK, even the ones that have thousands of pounds of investment from The Lottery and councils.

The Wellspring receives no financial support from The Lottery, council or Government.

We do have some small grants in place that fund specific items in our building, however 99 per cent of our running costs are funded by the community of Stockport and Wellspring fundraising events.

In the last week we have had some fantastic support from Modiste fashion store in Bramhall village, who held a fundraising fashion show for The Wellspring at Yardbird restaurant in Bramhall.

The event was sold out several weeks in advance and raised £1,132 for The Wellspring.

Benchmark Gym in Stockport have also been busy fundraising for The Wellspring by organising numerous fitness related fundraising events for The Wellspring.

Benchmark Gym have adopted The Wellspring as their Charity of The Year and are aiming to raise £2,017 for The Wellspring this year.

It’s support like this and many others that not only keeps The Wellspring going, but it keeps The Wellspring advancing, getting better at what we do and how we do it.

Creating more positive outcomes, supporting more homeless people to get off and stay off the streets, reducing issues of abuse and providing support to anyone in Stockport who needs it.

The Wellspring’s biggest fundraising event of the year is The Great Manchester 10k run, which is held in Manchester city centre on Sunday, May 28.

Wellspring has free places in the event and we don’t set you a fundraising target.

Around 80 places remain to be filled in the 10k for The Wellspring.

You don’t have to be a fantastic runner or have even run in an event before.

Wellspring also has a small number of places
