SEVEN MILES OUT
WE’VE got another run of great events for your entertainment this week.
The monthly A Laugh in Stockport comedy nights have been attracting a regular crowd to the Old Town who enjoy the up close and personal approach to live comedy.
This Thursday from 7.45pm ALIS present another great line-up with Harriet Dyer, Liam Pickford and up and coming acts compered by our resident ray of sunshine Danny Sutcliffe.
Surreal and hilarious, Harriet Dyer is a unique comic voice with a bewildering array of personal tales and confessions of a misspent youth. An offbeat stage presence with appearances on BBC Radio 4 and ITV, Harriet’s stock can only continue to rise.
Liam Pickford delivers his idiosyncratic, curmudgeonly, inventive comedy with a devilish glint in his eye. With five years on the comedy circuit under his belt, Liam has walked his own path from day one. An intelligent writer and
compelling stage presence, his debut solo show ‘Seaside Cock Novelties’ played to a sold-out audience at the Liverpool Comedy Festival.
This Friday is Good Friday and we have an essential event for everyone who loves psychedelic sounds. We have two great psych bands playing sets that will blow your mind, check out thing and Deja Vega. Doors open 7.30pm and tickets are £4 in advance or £5 on the door.
Easter Saturday night make it a date with our retro vinyl party night Sound and Vision. Every month Sound and Vision attracts a wonderful clientèle of people who love their music and like to let their hair down on the dance floor. With an amazing playlist of classic tracks curated by Victoria Louise with DJ ‘The Vinyl Frontier,’ Sound and Vision is the place to be and it’s completely free! Our Easter event is sure to be full of eggcentrics so come on down and join the party.
