Caroline and pals to jump in memory of mum
‘As this is in memory of my mum I wanted to really push myself’
A WOMAN whose mum tragically died of a heart attack at the age of just 52 is planning to jump out of a plane to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation.
But 31-year-old Caroline Hale, from Hyde, won’t be alone when she takes the plunge, as three of her colleagues at Cheadle- based Lex Autolease have been roped in to the skydive challenge.
They are planning to make the jump from 13,500 feet on August 13, which would have been Caroline’s mum Denise Jean Hale’s 56th birthday.
She said: “I wanted to raise money for the BHF for a while and decided that Heart Flyers was the right opportunity.
“As this is in memory of my mum I wanted to really push myself. I am pleased that Lex Autolease and my colleagues Chris Cere, Emma Jones and Emily Ravenscroft are right behind me.”
David Currier, director at Lex Autolease, added: “I’m so proud of my colleagues and the way they have bravely stepped up to this challenge.
“The British Heart Foundation is a very special charity which has particular significance to a number of our staff and I know they all take great pride in our involvement.”
The BHF’s Heart Flyers programme allows people to choose a location from 21 skydiving venues across the UK, pick a date to jump and start fundraising.
Katherine Stybelski, fundraising manager at the BHF, said: “We never cease to be amazed by the extraordinary ways people like Caroline and her colleagues fundraise for the BHF.
“Every contribution, big or small, plays a crucial part in every breakthrough we make so we are incredibly grateful for their support.
“Skydiving is a fantastic way to do something unforgettable to raise vital funds to help the BHF continue its lifesaving research.
“Join our fight for every heartbeat by signing up to take the plunge and become a Heart Fyler.”
