Lydia made up with business boosting loan
STOCKPORT entrepreneur Lydia Hughes is set to make a big splash in the online beauty market, thanks to the Stockport Business Finance Scheme.
In 2016 Lydia launched her beauty website, Ditzy Doll, aiming to supply popular cosmetics direct to consumers at affordable prices.
Starting with niche eyelash products, she quickly expanded into lips, hair, nails, jewellery, glitter and tanning products and now stocks brands including W7, Paint Glow and Technic.
With products starting from just 99p, Lydia is already trading profitably and making inroads into the beauty marketplace.
The former administrative assistant is now using the £10,000 funding from the Stockport Business Finance Scheme to expand her product range, move into new warehouse premises, improve her website and invest in additional digital marketing.
She also plans to expand her website content to include makeup tutorial videos and to launch a range of seasonal group parties and bespoke pamper packages.
Lydia said: “Make-up and beauty have played a big part in my life for many years and now, thanks to the loan I’ve received from the Stockport Enterprise Loan scheme, I have the support I need to make Ditzy Doll a major online retail brand.”
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport council’s cabinet member for economy and regeneration, said: “It’s fantastic to see that this partnership is helping Ditzy Doll grow and become a thriving business – we look forward to continuing to work with Lydia and help her business become a major online retail brand.”
