- GOLF GEOFF GARNETT

THE annual Family Fun Day at Avro Golf Club at Woodford on the Stockport/ Macclesfield border proved to be another great success despite some appalling weather in the early stages.

More than 100 visitors attended and there were plenty of lively golfing activities enjoyed by children and adults alike, including Tri golf, target golf, chipping and putting challenges.

Organiser Vic Tarr said: “I would like to give thanks to PGA coach Dave Cullen for providing golf sessions throughout the day as all of the equipment for the children’s golfing activities.

“The face painting designs were amazing and a big thank you to Laura the face painting artist from Daisydoos.co.uk.

“Also I would like to thank Chrome Motors in Woodford for kindly sponsoring the bouncy castle and to Anthony from Culinarycraft.co.uk who provided an excellent barbeque throughout the day.

“Finally my thanks go to the 30 club members who volunteered to be helpers on the day, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for the fun activities to be enjoyed by all.”
