Frustratio­n for Iddon at Snetterton

INJURY meant Stockport’s Christian Iddon was left watching from the sidelines once more at the British Superbike Championsh­ip.

The event’s medical team advised Iddon to sit it out over the TYCO BMW rider’s injury, sustained at Knockhill two weeks ago.

Iddon, came off his bike during Free was left without a point in the last four races, dropping him down to eighth in the standings, and out of the all important Showdown places.

“It’s important to think of the long term” admitted Iddon.

“We have to keep one eye on the season as a whole, and whilst I’ve missed out here again, I’ll come back fighting and give it everything I’ve got

“Missing two full Rounds was always going to hurt us. Eighth in the Championsh­ip now, but it is what it is. We’ll regroup and look forward.”

Elsewhere, Ben Luxton was also in action at Snetterton, the Stockport lad claiming eighth place in the Pirelli Superstock 600 Championsh­ip, after qualifying tenth of the thirty-eight rider entry.

Luxton, on his CNC Routing run Kawasaki repeated his best finishing result of the season so far, and sits nineteenth in the overall Series standings.

Brands Hatch, in Kent, is up next for the MCE British Superbike Championsh­ip, across the weekend of the 22/23 July.
