Plaza’s panto preview
IT may be summer holiday time but Pantomime was centre stage at The Plaza on Mersey Square in Stockport recently when Aladdin, starring Ted Robbins and Brian Capron, was unveiled as this year’s production.
Ted Robbins, who is known to millions of fans for his much-loved roles in TV’s Phoenix Nights,’ Coronation Street and as The Governor in the top CBBC Show ‘The Slammer,’ makes a welcome return to The Plaza and is guaranteed to bring the house down when he stars as Widow Twanky.
Aladdin will be played by newcomer to Plaza pantomimes Benjamin Connor and Wishee Washee by the ever popular Bradley Thompson, who makes a welcome return to The Plaza for his third year with all the energy and loveable charm he is famous for.
Adding a sparkling oriental majesty to proceedings will be Becky Bennett, who is returning due to popular demand, this time as Princess Balroubadour in a role she is guaranteed to make her own with her elegance, grace and stunning singing voice.
Finally, starring alongside Ted Robbins is another popular star of stage and screen Brian Capron, who alongside starring roles in the West End in productions such as Guys And Dolls and The Rocky Horror Show is well-known for his many television roles including as the murderous Richard Hillman in Coronation Street.
Brian ensures The Plaza has the perfect evil Abanazar… oh yes he does!
