Jake Kelly on bill at Bowlers
STOCKPORT boxer Jake Kelly is set to return to the ring on Saturday when he competes on a bill in Manchester.
Kelly is scheduled to go up against experienced journeyman William Warburton at Bowlers Exhibition Centre.
The 26-year-old made a perfect start to his professional career last month when he won on his debut by comfortably defeating Mike Castell on points after four rounds.
Kelly will now hope to make it two wins from two when he steps into the ring with Warburton, who has fought the likes of Jimmy Kelly, Tommy Coyle, Tyrone Nurse and Willie Limond during his career.
The fight takes place on a packed bill, which also features a number of up and coming prospects from the local area.
The main sees Zelfa Barrett look to extend his unbeaten record to 18-0 when he faces Jordan Ellison.
One of Barrett’s stablemates from Collyhurst and Moston is on the bill too, as Lyndon Arthur competes in a cruiserweight bout.
Denton Vassell is coming out of retirement for a comeback fight as he faces Casey Blair in his first fight in over 13 months.
Vassell has had an impressive career which saw him win the Commonwealth welterweight title and challenge for the British belt.
Marcus Morrison will try to bounce back after a difficult few months when he is in action after back to back losses.
Also on the bill are the likes of Stacey Copeland, Reece Cartwright, Steven Lewis, Arthif Daniel, Marcel Braithwaite, Diego Costa and Dean Laing.
