Life’s a beach for centre’s shoppers

-

LIFE will be a beach in Stockport town centre whatever the weather this summer.

Because, for the second year running, Merseyway Shopping Centre is inviting people to have fun in the indoor beach it has created - and called Merseybay.

The free attraction, located outside Specsavers, is open to children aged 10 and under to build sandcastles, relax in deckchairs and take part in craft activities.

Parents can also enter a competition via the Merseyway Facebook page to win a beach bag of goodies.

Brendan Webb, Merseyway centre manager, said: “Merseybay was a real hit with local families last summer, giving children the opportunity to play on a beach come rain or shine.”

Councillor Kate Butler, cabinet member for the economy, said: “No matter what the weather, everyone can enjoy some of the great British summer at Merseybay.

“With something for all the family, it is a fantastic day out and I’d encourage you to come down and join the fun, whilst also discovering everything Merseyway and our town centre has to offer.”
