Park hosts festival

A FESTIVAL for youngsters will combine both music and food.

The B Music and Food Festival takes place in Woodbank Park, Offerton, on Saturday from midday to 10pm. Entry is free and the festival will feature dozens of music acts on five stages across genres including reggae, pop, indie, dance and jungle.

Among those set to perform are Dub Smugglers, the Orchid Hunters, X Talk and Younganz Fusion. The event will also have funfair rides, games, poetry, workshops and food tasting.

It had come under threat from concerns over noise affecting residents in the evening but potential problems have been solved following a meeting with the council.

Solomon Onaolapo, from organisers Rising Stars, said: “It will be in the middle of the park, right away from houses so I don’t think it will affect residents.”
