Premiership coaches at academy
ASPIRING footballers are being given the opportunity to train with Manchester United and Stoke City coaches at a brand new football academy.
It is being run by Cheadle Town FC in Stockport and young people aged 16 to 18 are invited to attend open trials, with full-time playing vacancies available. As part of a partnership with Little Sports Coaching, the players will train daily with coaches who work with professional teams, including Manchester United, Stoke City, Bury FC and Rochdale FC, while studying for a BTEC in sport.
They will have the opportunity to rise through the ranks to the development squad, reserves and first team, while becoming fully qualified football coaches.
Craig Brennan, CEO at Little Sports Coaching, said: “We are looking to take on 24 players to join our new academy at Cheadle Town FC.
“We are looking for a mixture of players who might be released from clubs or any talented players who think they have what it takes to play in a semi-professional team.”
The trials will be held today. Wednesday, August 2, between 4pm and 6pm at Cheadle Town FC.
