Sew unique mum is on the shortlist for annual awards

-

A MUM who runs her own business from home has been named as a finalist in the fourth annual BizMums awards.

Kelly Mallinson, from Mile End in Stockport, runs Sew Unique Artwork and she specialises in transforming children’s artwork into embroidered keepsakes such as cushions, aprons and framed canvases.

She primarily attracts business online through Facebook, Instagram and Etsy but can often be seen exhibiting samples of her work at local artisan markets and school fairs.

Kelly previously worked as an architect, but in 2015 decided to pursue her lifelong dream of running a design-based business from home, alongside being a full-time mum to her two young daughters.

She has been shortlisted in the ‘Creative Mum of the Year’ category.

She said: “I am so excited to have been shortlisted for the BizMums award! I genuinely love what I do these days and am proud that my work stood out enough to be nominated.

“BizMums is a national online community of self-employed mums and it is a category full of other incredibly talented ladies, so I will just have to wait and see what happens.”

Winners will be announced on Sunday, October 8, at the annual BizMums Conference & Awards at the Manor House in Alsager, Cheshire.
