Rider is injured

-

OFF-DUTY medical staff rushed to the rescue of a woman who fell from her moped, breaking her leg.

Diane Train, 47, from Offerton, was thrown from the moped on Bean Leech Road in Hazel Grove.

The passers-by who quickly came to her aid included Stepping Hill A&E doctor Liz Cherry, senior nurses Fran Marshall and Emma Rogers and nurse Rachel Price.

They took it in turns to support her neck in case of spinal injuries whilst administering first aid.

They also directed the traffic around her until the police arrived.

Diane said: “This was an awful and scary experience but I was so pleased that the nurses and medics were there to take care of me. They were very reassuring during a frightening time and I don’t know what I’d have done without them.”
