KNAUTIA macedonica ‘Thunder and lightning’
Knautia is a long-flowering summer perennial. It’s in bloom now and should be until September, with deep crimson pin-cushion flowers, a bit like scabious, at the end of a network of stems.
It likes a sunny, well-drained soil and will attract bees and butterflies to your garden. A lovely cottage garden plant, ‘Thunder and Lightning’ has a creamy variegation to its leaves.
