Award recognises true innovation
EACH week we are telling you more about the companies that have made the shortlist for the Stockport Business Awards.
The Innovation Award is sponsored by MAN Diesel and Turbo UK and the shortlisted companies are Glossop Cartons, Life Leisure (actilife) and Manchester Fertility Clinic.
Glossop Cartons’ commitment to investing in new technologies and innovative machinery has seen the company grow from a humble start up in 1982 employing just three people to a thriving industry leader employing over 100.
The company is now a world leader in digital packaging and one of the UK’s top manufacturers of conventional carton board products, serving organisations across the UK and beyond. Glossop Cartons has played a key role in driving innovation within the industry, setting the bar for others to follow and encouraging excellence across the sector.
Life Leisure’s actilife is an innovative online platform that will help you make positive activity and lifestyle changes. It has proven to be extremely successful for those who want to become more active but cannot visit a gym on a regular basis or for people who want to become more active but don’t know how to start.
Designed and developed by physical activity specialists, the programme connects with many mainstream activity trackers and free apps. Life Leisure are not a technology company but this foray into innovation has so far seen them win multiple awards and nationwide press coverage.
For Manchester Fertility Clinic innovation doesn’t just apply to treatments. It is an intrinsic culture, influencing and driving every area of operation, built into the core competence of the business. It’s how Manchester Fertility has evolved from a small, Manchesterbased clinic to become one of the most reputed names in fertility care in the UK.
By improving all aspects of the patient journey through innovation, Manchester Fertility ultimately improves its success rates for fertility treatments, achieving its objective to be the best fertility clinic in the country.
Winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner at Stockport Town Hall on October 12.
Organisers of the awards and main sponsors are Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants and headline sponsors are Gorvins Solicitors and Orbit Developments.
