New database that is helping homeless

RECENTLY The Wellspring has developed its own database which allows us to track, update and monitor the progress of each and every person that The Wellspring works with.

With the database we are able to produce upto-the-minute statistics on all aspects of homelessness in Stockport.

For instance, at the time of writing Wellspring is working with 57 people who are street homeless in Stockport and a further 82 people who are sofa surfing.

In addition we are working with an additional 66 individuals who are at serious risk of becoming homeless.

This database is a huge leap forward for The Wellspring, it saves the staff team vital time when working with people and ensures that all our members of staff have up-to-date information on all the people we are working with.

It allows the staff team to create support plans for each and every individual.

Staff and volunteers then have very clear direction of what needs to be achieved with each and every person who attends The Wellspring.

I very much look forward to developing The Wellspring further and making the project as Trust who alongside The Fire Service in Stockport have been volunteering in our kitchens and helping with general jobs around the project.

We have also had some fantastic support from the staff of British Gas, which provided members of staff to take over our kitchen and helped us sort out all our practical donations that are given out to people who are sleeping rough.

The Hatters Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, September 3 and The Wellspring has free places in the event to give away to people, in return for fundraising for The Wellspring.

The event is run and organised by Stockport County Fans Co-operative. It is a fantastic local event that hundreds of people take part in.
