In fine shape on and off the field for a year
AS Chair of the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative, I am delighted to pen these few words to County supporters upon the commencement of a new season. When this was being written, the new season had not yet started.
By the time you read this, we will know how County performed against Spennymoor on Saturday. I hope we are off to a flying start!
Whatever the outcome was on Saturday, I think we can be optimistic about the coming season.
We have, beyond serious dispute, the best manager in non-league football in Jim Gannon, and I’m confident that the signings he has made over the summer will hopefully put us into a position that we can, at long last, begin our climb-back to the Football League.
We can be equally optimistic about the future of the County Supporters Co-operative.
The time is fast approaching for our flagship fundraising event, the Hatters Half half-marathon, due to be held on Sunday 3rd September.
As well as raising funds for our Guardian Account, a lot of money is raised through sponsorship for charities.
Our nominated charity, The Wellspring, which provides support for homeless people in our town, have announced that they intend to enter 50 runners in the event. Through sponsorship, this should raise a considerable amount for what is a very worthy cause.

We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who can help on the day to make this event
