A BUS company has celebrated the unveiling of a new fleet by sponsoring a football team.

Stagecoach Manchester has five new single-decker buses operating in the Stockport area, each fitted with free Wi-Fi and contactless payment technology.

And it has also sponsored Brinnington United and the money has allowed the club to buy new home and away kits.

Elisabeth Tasker, managing director at Stagecoach Manchester, said: “We care for the local community and see ourselves as a business which plays an integral part in local people’s daily lives.

“Working together with Brinnington United has been a pleasure and it’s great to see the team wearing the kit with pride.

“Our new and improved buses will allow people to travel in a more comfortable and practical environment and these new buses can carry more passengers.”

Phil Palmer, from Brinnington United, added: “We’re so thankful for this generous gesture from Stagecoach, it’s really great to see the company giving back to a community who are frequent users of the service.”
