Apprentices get full-time roles

-

THE Vernon Building Society has given full-time jobs to two of its apprentices and taken on a new trainee.

Melissa Fyfe, aged 18, has been appointed as a business administrator, while James Corrigan, also 18, is now a finance officer at the mutual society. Both completed a year-long apprenticeship at the Stockport-based society working across a number of departments and in branches.

Libby Maugham, aged 16, has just started her 12-month apprenticeship, with all three placements organised by Damar Training in Stockport.

James said: “Apprenticeships give great on-the-job training in a work environment and that’s not something you get at college.”
