Former Reds star at school
FORMER Manchester United star Gary Neville was the guest speaker at Cheadle Hulme School’s annual head’s lecture.
The footballer turned TV pundit was quizzed by headteacher Lucy Pearson when he visited the school, on Claremont Road.
More than 400 pupils and parents attended the event, where Gary talked about his life emerging from the United Class of 92 to being an England international and now businessman.
He spoke of the importance of ambition and how a successful team is made.
Gary said: “I’d tell the students here tonight to just get out there and do it, get work experience, even in places you wouldn’t want to work.
“It’s important to learn to deal with uncomfortable situations, get out of your comfort zone - it’ll help later in life.
“Do your best and push yourself.”
Guest speakers at previous events include Arctic swimmer Lewis Pugh and human rights advocate and Shadow Attorney General, Baroness Shami Chakrabarti CBE.
