Tech company recruits new apprentices
ASTOCKPORT technology company has recruited a team of apprentices to a new scheme run in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University.
CDL has taken on 14 apprentices to its digital and technology degree apprenticeship scheme, designed to create opportunities for young people to gain workplace experience and a degree qualification which is funded by the employer.
Emma Lord, human resources manager at CDL, said: “The apprenticeship scheme is a great opportunity for students to learn new skills and gives them the chance to experience working life and to obtain a degree without the debt that usually comes with higher education.
“People are our greatest asset at CDL and our apprentice programme will help us to attract and nurture talent and create a pipeline of high performing employees who will have an exciting career in technology.”
The launch extends CDL’s apprenticeship programmes, in line with Government strategy to develop vocational skills and increase the quantity and quality of apprenticeships following the introduction of the apprenticeship levy last April.
In addition to opportunities for digital and technology degree apprentices, who work in various teams across the business and attend CDL-funded degree courses at the university each week, the company also offers service management apprenticeships within the service desk team, with successful applicants completing a Level 3 infrastructure technician course alongside their work-based experience.
