Appeal for digital-savvy volunteers

-

A LOCAL charity has put out an urgent appeal for help from digitally-savvy volunteers happy to donate time to help out their online retail team.

St Ann’s Hospice is appealing for local people who may be able to help them grow the income from their eBay and Amazon shops, by volunteering a few hours a week at their distribution centre on Bankfield Industrial Estate in South Reddish.

Amanda Brooks, Trading Company manager at St Ann’s, said: “We rely on income from our shops and fundraising to ensure the hospice can care for the thousands of local people it supports every year.

“We desperately need the support of volunteers for our online shops for what is an extremely fun and varied role.

“Those who are able to give even a few hours of their time could be helping out with anything from researching the background of antiques or other items donated, to marketing them, taking photos or optimising listings.

“They even get involved in fulfilling the orders by packing and dispatching them too, so it’s great for anyone wanting really rounded online sales experience - perhaps a student or someone who is looking to have a change in career or simply someone who is digitally focussed and is looking for a fun and interesting way to give something back.”

St Ann’s Hospice cares for people from across Greater Manchester from its three sites in Heald Green, Little Hulton and the Neil Cliffe Centre in Wythenshawe Hospital, as well as out in the community and in the places people call home.

The hospice’s Trading Company runs 14 shops, complete with a range of new and pre-loved items, as well as the online eBay and Amazon outlets, a Facebook Marketplace shop and a hospice lottery. »»For more information, or to offer to volunteer your time, please call 0161 4297778, or email online@sah.org.uk.
