THE people next door have put a fence and posts inside the boundary line in our garden. Are we entitled to remove it if we know we’re correct about this? Yes. If they’ve put a fence up on your property you can take it down. It would obviously have been better to prevent them putting it there in the first place, and I suggest you discuss it with your neighbours now. Apart from making life uncomfortable, a dispute with neighbours can make it difficult to sell your house when the time comes. It’s not always easy to determine where the boundary line runs, and you should try to reach a compromise if at all possible.
