Mug of Horlicks for homeless

Stockport Express - - News -

ROUGH sleepers, the homeless and vulnerable people welcomed a free delivery of Horlicks.

As part of a nationwide initiative, called Gifting a Moment to Communities, the 24 cases, including Horlicks mugs, was dispatched to The Wellspring charity and resource centre for the homeless, based on Harvey Street, Stockport.

The campaign aims to offer warmth and comfort to the people who rely on The Wellspring and other charities and organisations across the country

Jonathan Billings, chief executive officer at The Wellspring, said: “There was much excitement when the Horlicks delivery came. Many of our service users remember enjoying a tasty mug of Horlicks as a child and look forward to us putting the kettle on.”

Michelle Younger, Horlicks marketing manager, added “As the cold temperatures set in, the plight of many who rely on shelters such as the remarkable The Wellspring become exasperated.”
