Harriers girls dominate at Sale event
STOCKPORT’S junior, U17 and U20 athletes competed at the Sale Harriers Indoor Open at Sports City with some great performances and countless PBs to end the calendar year.
Stockport’s female squad dominated the events starting with the U15 Girls 60m where Annabel Mobley took 2nd place with a PB of 8.35s in her heat.
This time was subsequently beaten by Charlotte Wilkinson who also grabbed a PB and 1st place in her heat with a time of 8.34s. In this heat, Millie Everett also took 4th place. Another PB then came from Kate Horobin with a time of 8.60s and 3rd place in her heat. Rebecca Leather also placed 2nd in her U15 heat with Lola Unsworth running as a U13 in the same race and taking a PB of 9.00 and 4th place. More PBs came from Melissa Cox and Libby Martin the final U15 Girls 60m.
Olivia Ashdown and Rebecca Roach placed 3rd and 5th respectively in their U17 Women’s 60m heat. Ella Chambers came away with a PB of 8.69s and 3rd place in her heat. In the U20 Men 60m, Jack Schofield-Brown placed 2nd with yet another PB of 7.36s; a further improvement of his previous PB of 7.48 just two weeks earlier. In the U20 Women’s 60m, Fay Dodgson also came away with a PB of 8.97 and 2nd place.
In the U15 Boy’s 300m, Thomas Manton took 2nd place with yet another PB of 41.15S. Hot on his heels was Jack Doodson, placing 4th. Not to be outdone was Charlotte Wilkinson with her second PB of the day, winning her 300m heat in 43.89.
The U17 Women’s 300m saw a Stockport takeover with Olivia Ashdown, Holly Aitchison and Ella Chambers placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Taking the distance up a notch were U17s Harry Miller-Reedman (1.39.30) and Esther
