WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page: ●●THE ‘Stockport revolution’: The developments that will transform the town in 2019 (January 2) Adelle Bostock: Also planning to build lots more apartments in Stockport. How are families gonna afford to buy or rent those? Houses needed for families, with affordable rents. Smaller homes for the homeless, and affordable rents for them too! Iain Mcgarvie: Good to see, house prices grew the second highest in Greater Manchester in 2018. Will only help to thrive. Lorna Ryan: Waste of money, try putting it towards the NHS, the police. All the services that we rely on. Shelter for the homeless people. Jill Turner: Any development and investment in Stockport has got to be a good thing. ●●PATIENT safety concerns raised AGAIN over staffing levels at Stepping Hill (January 2) Gayle Ripper: Another vote of confidence for Stepping Hill. We have had to regularly visit children’s emergency admissions for years and they are first class. We have also had experience of life saving CCU to whom we will be forever thankful. We have had experience of lots of hospitals throughout UK and Stepping Hill in our view is outstanding and by far the best for professionalism, patient care and communication. Articles like this affects staffing though. They become jaded and great staff leave. Boost them and they’ll continue with the marvellous job they’re doing. Ben Mapp: The staff are doing their best and can only work with what funding they have. The NHS obviously needs funding and has for a while. It should be a priority. Maybe stop all MP pay rises and bonuses until it’s sorted. Zoe Kennerley: It’s an amazing local hospital, the staff deserve medals and massive respect for all their hard work. I have been lots and could not fault it. I would just like to say thank you to all. Carol Pownall: Having been in Stepping Hill hospital recently. I couldn’t have wished for a better care they gave to me. Wonderful staff, thank you Stepping hill, thank you all for your expertise! Ward A10 you were amazing and I’m truly thankful and blessed for everything you did for me! Can’t thank you enough. Mandy Mellinson: I love how Stockport has come and defended its hospital and the staff. Thank you everyone.
