Police alert over TV licence scam

POLICE have issued a warning about an email scam promising TV licence refunds.

The fake emails, purporting to be from TV Licensing, ask people to click on a link and enter their bank details.

Officers in Marple and Hazel Grove have warned people not to share their details if they receive the email.

TV Licensing officials say they would never email anyone to tell them they are entitled to a refund. Nor would they contact anyone asking to pay additional money for services.
