Duo book slot in national foursome

MELLOR and Townscliffe ladies played their national Coronation Foursomes qualifier and representing the club will be L Davenport and Pat Phillips who won a cpo on 34 points from P Ryan and C Crosthwaite and L Howarth and A Fletcher 31.

The Jack Clarke Tankard for M and T’s men was won by Thomas Challinor with 64 from J Beech 65 and Stephen Rawlings 66.

‘Major’ action at Romiley saw Jack Hilton win the Victory Cup posting 39 points, one more than Steve Hogg and Mark Hilton.

Romiley ladies were in medal mode with Rebecca Byle first past the post with 73 from Pauline Walker, Diane Houghton, Teresa Hogg, Heather Denton, Sharon Dineen and Louise Meeks, all 75.

Marple Golf Club Captain Mike McPhee has set up a great day at the club on Friday June 21 supporting the Captain’s Charity of ‘The Bobby Moore Cancer Unit’ at Stepping Hill Hospital.

One of the exciting events on the day will be the Three Countries in Day Challenge by six players from the club who will play courses in Scotland and Wales before completing the day with a round at Marple.

On the day there will also be golf available for members and guests who can play in a range of competitions over four, two or one round in pairs for just £20 however many holes they play with a great array of prizes on offer.
