Labour group praises care teams
STOCKPORT’S Labour group has paid tribute to the exceptional and unwavering service, our care homes and home care providers provide when supporting and caring for the most vulnerable people.
The group thanked carers for the hard work, dedication and commitment.
Stockport has the highest percentage of elderly residents within the Greater Manchester region.
Throughout this current pandemic, the council and the Independent Care Sector have come together to put in a place a resilient support network that provides safety and reassurance for residents and staff.
A spokesman said: “The health and safety of our vulnerable, care workers and providers are of paramount importance, which is why on a local level, across Greater Manchester and nationally Labour have called for the essential provision of PPE.
“Stockport Labour have always supported our Care Providers as equal partners in the provision of Social Care and Health and we will look to build upon that support with our Care Homes and Home Care Providers in what is truly unprecedented times.”
Coun Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, added: “I cannot stress how much we value the dedicated work of all our care providers in these incredibly challenging times.
“Each individual worker has stepped up and given 110 per cent to continue to support our residents often in very difficult circumstances.
“I’m delighted that the strength of the councils ASC partnership with the sector means that we have been able to respond so effectively to the daily challenges they are facing.
“I would like to thank each and every key worker for their contribution to the protection and safeguarding of our residents. You all are very much appreciated.”
