Tributes to ‘heart of gold’ football fan killed in horror crash
TRIBUTES have been paid to a passionate Manchester City fan who died after a horror crash in Hazel Grove.
Nicholas Sharples, known as Nick, 28, died after a white Audi he had been driving collided with a tree and caught fire on Dean Moor Road in Hazel Grove in the early hours of Friday morning.
Emergency services raced to the scene after passing police officers discovered the aftermath of the crash just off Bramhall Moor Lane, at around 2.20am. He was taken to hospital however he sadly died a few hours later.

Police (GMP) say an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
South Manchester Coroner’s
Court say a file has been passed to them regarding the death.
Friends of Nick have paid tribute to him saying describing him as a “good man” who “do anything for anyone.”
Diionne Barry who had recently started seeing Nick told the Stockport Express: “He had a heart of gold and would of done anything for anyone.
“I’m going to miss him so much.”
Friend Clayton Walsh described Nick as a “good man, a good friend and a true champion.”
Tributes have also been paid to Nick on social media.
Sam Wynne said on Facebook: “RIP Nick Sharples. Love you to bits man thanks for the memories, will miss you ”
Charlotte Fraser said: “RIP NICK, Gone but never forgotten, Loved by many!
“Taken to soon, the sky gained another star yesterday, shine bright Nick... until we meet again.”
Whilst Kirsty Marie Bradley said: “So sad, rip nick sharples.”
On Friday, Sergeant Matthew Picton from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident which has sadly resulted in a man losing his life.
“An investigation is underway and I would ask anyone with information to contact us.”
