Charities want your vote in their bid for share of £10,000 jackpot
HERE’S how you can give your favourite Stockport charity or community group a huge boost in a matter of seconds... by voting to help them cash in on a £10,000 fund.
The short-list has been whittled down to 14 finalists, with all of the not-for-profit and community groups sharing Vernon’s £10,000 awards pot, based on the number of votes they receive in the public vote.
A total of 66 groups applied for a share of this year’s Community Awards, and Vernon’s judging panel carefully considered each before deciding on the shortlist. This year’s finalists are: Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, Easy Peel Studio CIC,
Friends of High Lane and Brookside Parks, Hatters Outreach Providing Essentials, Millie’s Trust, Pure Innovations Seashell Trust, Signpost Stockport for Carers, Stockport County Community Foundation, Stockport Mind, Stockport Pride, The Cherry Tree Project, Together Trust and Walthew House.
Marketing and brand manager at Vernon, Alexander Deakin, said: “This is a fantastic list of well-deserving groups, all of which benefit the local community. It’s been an especially difficult year for charities with fundraising efforts hampered by the pandemic, so we are thrilled to support these local organisations.”
