Man was found hanged in park
A MAN was found hanged in a park in Stockport, an inquest heard.
The inquest into the death of Graham Stephen Bloomfield, was opened at Stockport Coroners’ Court last Wednesday.
The body of Mr Bloomfield, 50, was discovered in Woodbank Park, Offerton, on February 3 earlier this year.
Mr Bloomfield worked as a warehouse operative and lived in Offerton, the inquest heard.
Area coroner Chis Morris confirmed that the deceased had been found hanged.
Mr Morris, giving a preliminary cause of death, said: “A postmortem examination carried out by Dr Yates and toxicology tests found that Mr Bloomfield’s death was caused by hanging. This means that a full inquest will be required.”
Police sealed off an area of Woodbank Park after discovering Mr Bloomfield’s body on February 3. Suspicious circumstances were ruled out and a file prepared for the coroner.
The inquest into Mr Bloomfield’s death will be heard on July 26, 2021.
